As Ohio State head football coach, Jim Tressel led the Buckeyes to win the 2002 National Championship and seven Big Ten Championships. He achieved the first 14-0 season in major college football in more than 100 years and holds an 81% winning percentage, one of the top in the school’s history. Prior to his Ohio State days, Tressel was head football coach for Youngstown State University, guiding the team to the playoffs ten times and winning four national championships from 1986-2000. Tressel’s passion of winning on the field is just as notable as winning off the field. He has been president of Youngstown State University since 2014 and under his leadership the enrollment has increased, student retention is up, and fund-raising levels are hitting record highs. Tressel published a New York Times Best Seller, The Winner’s Manual: For the Game of Life. The book provides the “Big Ten” fundamentals for success, which include Attitude, Discipline, Faith, Handling Adversity & Success, Excellence, Love, Toughness, Responsibility, Team, and Hope.
