GET BUSY LIVING

I love the movie, Shawshank Redemption. In that movie there’s a famous line, “Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying” where the lead character, Andy Dufresne is focused on getting out of prison and living the life of his dreams.

Truth is that many of us have been in a “prison” of sorts just like Andy. Many of us have had to postpone living the life of our dreams over the last 18 months due to Covid.

Now there’s talk of a Delta variant. Covid variants are named after letters in the Greek alphabet. So far we have had Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta.

I am here to tell you that there are 20 letters of the Greek alphabet left. Up next are Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta and many more. My best guess is that we are all going to be seeing more letters of the Greek alphabet soon enough.

Your response is up to you.

As for me and my leadership, I will tell everyone I know that we all need to Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying.

This is not a political message so I will not discuss vaccines, masks etc.

I have been vaccinated. But I will not tell anyone what they should do. I don’t like “shoulding” on people.

I recently flew on a plane and they told me I had to wear a mask. I don’t like being “shoulded” on, but I was fine to wear a mask if it could possibly help others be safe or feels safe.

But you are soon going to see more news about more variants of Covid and YOU need to decide what you will do about it. I know very few people that can afford financially or psychologically to stop and wait for all of this to be over. Perhaps, it will never be over.

Let me encourage you to Get Busy Living right now. If you are “at risk”, you may need to learn how to do much more on the phone and in zoom type calls. If you are not at risk, you may choose to get back out in front of customers and prospect in person.

Be like Andy Dufresne and Get Busy Living however
